Saturday the 12th December will be the last day of term ( 9.30 -2pm at the Leisure Centre) this has been added on due the cancellation of Saturday classes when the leisure Centre had a power cut – please note that all weekday classes have now finished until the New Year.
I would like to congratulate everyone on what has been a very successful term for the school. Most recently Georgia Steer,Josie Crosby and Emily Meldon all successfully auditioned for the English Youth Ballet and will be performing Coppelia at the Princess Theatre in Torquay next year.
During the October half term a number of students recently competed at the North Devon Festival in Bideford and what a fantastic week of competition it was. They dominated the Greek sections, with Georgia Scott McDowall and Georgia Steer both winning in their age categories – Elas Crawford Leighton, Josie Crosby and Gemma Richardson all coming second. Rosie Olsen won the Alison Barwise Cup for her song and dance. We gained many second and third places in a range of other categories as well including character, ballet and modern , and attained highly commended in many other extremely competitive groups including trios and duets. The classical U15’s and U18’s contemporary groups were both placed 2nd.
After an amazing week, the crowning glory came at the closing of the festival when we won a cup for best costume and make-up for the U18’s contemporary group dance. well done to everyone who took part.
Lastly I would like to wish you all a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year !
Classes start on Monday 4th January 2016.
